The low-cost grocer announced the offer in a news release, and said the “blast from the past” will offer holiday favorites at 2019 prices for discounts of up to 30%.

“Providing amazing products at the absolute lowest prices is what we’ve always done, and we know right now that’s more important than ever,” said Dave Rinaldo, president of Aldi U.S. “We expect to welcome tens of millions of customers in our stores this Thanksgiving season, and we want them to know they can count on us. So why not attempt that additional side dish this year, or invite a few more friends or family members? You can rest easy knowing Aldi has your back this Thanksgiving and beyond.”

Aldi said that items like brie cheese, prosciutto, cornbread stuffing, rolls and pies will all be included for savings, and will be identified by red-and-white “Thanksgiving Price Rewind” icons both in ads and throughout the store.

Discounted items will be labeled with the icon.

The prices Aldi will be using are based on the average retail price for items from Nov. 2-29, 2019, and the promotion will run until Nov. 29, 2022.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service said that in 2022, all food prices are predicted to increase between 9.5% and 10.5%, with food-at-home prices predicted to increase between 11% and 12%. The increase is projected to continue into 2023, with the forecast for a 3-4% increase in food prices, according to the USDA ERS.
