A pack of bloodhound puppies is on the scent of a possible career as they trained with the York County Sheriff’s Office this week.

The sheriff’s office said on Facebook it was their first day of school, not “puppy playtime.”

Handlers put the pups through the ropes to see if they have what it takes to be part of the force as tracking dogs.

Deputies can be heard on the video encouraging the new recruits, telling them “You can make it,” and giving the pups extra rubs.

They said, “So far everyone is making good grades.”
