According to the Rock Hill Herald, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office said Kentovian White, 31, and Jessica Mills, 23, face two counts each of great bodily injury upon a child in connection with the alleged abuse. White, who was wanted on a weapons charge, also was charged with methamphetamine possession, the Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post Thursday.

The babies – one boy and one girl – are hospitalized in Charlotte, North Carolina, for treatment of their injuries, which include “fractures to the skull as well as multiple fractures throughout the body, and several other abusive injuries believed to be caused by cigarette burns and adult human bite marks,” the post read. One infant remains in critical condition, authorities said.

The Sheriff’s Office and the State Law Enforcement Division conducted an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of White and Mills on Wednesday, the Herald reported. Deputies also seized meth from White during the arrest, according to the newspaper.
