The superstar, who attended the extravagant event with her husband Jay-Z, took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the ceremony with her 133.6 million followers.

She uploaded a series of photos from the star-studded affair and expressed how honored she felt to be “surrounded by my heroes.” She even said she was moved to tears.

“I watched Denzel, Queen Oprah, Spike, Whoopi, Sir Poitier, Will, Halle, Dame Cicely and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored,” she wrote in the caption. “Generations of blood, sweat and tears, success, excellence and brilliance. It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying.”

She ended the post by thanking Perry, who she called her “Virgo brother,” for inspiring her “to dream even bigger.”

On Saturday, the filmmaker held the opening gala for the 330-acre Tyler Perry Studios. It is the first black-owned studio lot and is one of the largest in the country. It features 12 sound stages, which are each named after an iconic black actor.

Before the event got underway Saturday, Perry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he wanted his success to feel like “inspiration.”
