First, it was toilet paper and bleach wipes. Then there were shortages of some canned beverages and flour. Now cheese may be in short supply at some Costco locations.
The shortages aren’t actually the cheese itself; instead, it’s the lack of shipping containers around the world, CNN reported.
Costco is having a difficult time importing some international cheeses because there are bottlenecks at key ports on the West Coast. The bottlenecks are leading to shipping delays.
And it’s not only cheese that can’t get to its destination. The delays are also impacting seafood, olive oils, furniture, sporting goods and lawn and garden equipment, the company’s chief financial officer, Richard Galanti, told analysts recently, CNN reported.
Other companies feeling the pinch include Crocs, Urban Outfitters, Foot Locker and Dollar Tree, CNN reported.
