Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen and Lark Voorhies, as their alter egos, Jessie, A.C, Zach, Kelly and Lisa, gathered at The Max to talk about Diamond’s character Screech and his mission in the International Space Station with his robot Kevin, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Diamond died earlier this year from carcinoma at the age of 44.
He had been in talks to appear on the show for its second season, but it never happened because he died before filming resumed, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Berkley Lauren told Entertainment Weekly that they had various storylines and they all discussed how they could remember their costar on screen.
In the end, they all came together at the group’s signature booth and reminisced about Screech’s high school antics. They also enjoyed a new feature to the restaurant’s menu — Screech’s Spaghetti Burger, which was served by robot Kevin. They did not say what exactly happened to the character but implied that he had died, Entertainment Weekly reported.
As they raised their burgers to toast Screech, the show cut to his memorable moments, People magazine reported.
You can watch the “Saved by the Bell” reboot on the streaming network Peacock.
