PHOENIX – A 14-year-old Arizona boy is accused of fatally stabbing another teenager, authorities said.
According to Phoenix police, the teen allegedly stabbed John Sanchez, 15, of Phoenix, during an argument on Tuesday night, The Arizona Republic reported.
The boy was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, KNXV reported. He is not being charged as an adult at this time, the television station reported.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
Police said Sanchez and the 14-year-old boy knew each other, the Republic reported. They got into an argument at the 14-year-old’s apartment in west Phoenix, according to the newspaper.
According to a news release from the Phoenix Police Department, the boy used a knife and stabbed Sanchez.
A family member drove Sanchez to an area hospital after he managed to walk out of the apartment, the Republic reported. Sanchez was pronounced dead at the hospital, the newspaper reported.
