Hormel Foods will pay for employees’ children’s college education
Hormel Foods has a new perk for its employees that will directly benefit the workers and also their children.
The company announced it will provide a college education for the children of employees.
Hormel’s chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer Jim Snee said education is a “game-changer” for families.
“When you think about how a college education can change lives and start a ripple effect that will be felt for generations, that’s the change-maker Homel Foods wants to be,” Snee said in a news release.
The program is called Inspired Pathways and will be open to all current Hormel Foods employees later this year with first classes being in the 2021-22 academic year.
The company will be working with community colleges where Hormel has locations.
The program will also start mentorship committees within the communities to be a resource for students.
