MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Although traffic has been light amid coronavirus stay-at-home orders, Michigan State Police are warning drivers to slow down after one person reportedly was caught going 180 mph on the interstate – a whopping 110 mph over the posted speed limit.

According to MLive.com and WDIV-TV, the incident occurred late April 19 on Interstate 75 in Monroe County, where the speed limit is 70 mph.

“MSP wants people to know, just because there is less traffic on the roads & warmer weather, there are no excuses for speeding,” read the post, which was later deleted.

In this case, the driver claimed to be “speeding with another vehicle,” the citation said.
