LONDON – Police in the United Kingdom have arrested two men in connection with a 10-hour standoff at a Texas synagogue Saturday, The Associated Press is reporting.

The Greater Manchester Police Department said Thursday that the men – one who was arrested in Birmingham and another in Manchester – were being questioned, according to the news agency. Authorities have not filed any charges against the pair, the AP reported.

“Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West continue to support U.S. authorities with their investigation into the events in Texas,” the department said in a news release, adding that residents should support “anything suspicious” to the government’s Action Counters Terrorism website.
Meanwhile, officials said two British teens who had been arrested Sunday were later released and are not facing any charges, the AP reported.

The news came days after British citizen Malik Faisal Akram, 44, took four hostages at the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, according to the AP. Akram, who came to the U.S. as a tourist about two weeks before the incident, died in the standoff, the agency reported.
No further information about the new arrests was immediately available.
