TRACY CITY, Tenn. – A $1,000 reward is being offered after several cows were killed with a crossbow in a Tennessee county earlier this week, authorities said.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office shared graphic photos of the dead cows on its Facebook page, along with photos of arrows show from a crossbow.

According to deputies, the cows were killed in Tracy City, WZTV reported. The photos were originally posted by Falon Layne, who says in a Facebook post that the cows belonged to his father.

“My Daddy’s heart and soul is that farm,” Layne wrote. “He’s worked his entire life right there and for some garbage to come and shoot a cow for no damn reason is probably (the) most stupid cowardly thing I’ve ever heard of.”
