The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are set to run from Feb. 4-20.

Here are some Team USA athletes with Texas ties to watch:

With her skating partner, Timothy LeDuc, Ashley Cain-Gribble is a two time U.S. national champion (2019, 2022), the 2018 Four Continents silver medalist, and the 2016 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist. Born in Carrollton, Texas, Cain-Gribble trained at the Skating Club of New York. The now-26-year-old went on to compete in single skating, becoming the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist and the 2012 U.S. Junior silver medalist. And now, Cain-Gribble is headed to her first Olympic Games. Her partner, LeDuc, is the first publicly out non-binary athlete to compete at a Winter Olympics.

Originally from Arlington, Texas, Sylvia Hoffman was first discovered on The Next Olympic Hopeful, a TV program in which athletes compete for an opportunity to get invited to Olympic national team camps. While she did not win the overall competition, the U.S. Bobsled Team still invited Hoffman to attend its rookie training camp. With little experience in bobsled, Hoffman won both the Rookie Push Championship and the National Push Championship in 2018. Hoffman was officially given a spot on the U.S. Bobsled Team after participating in the national team trials. With the team, she competed in the 2018-2019 World Cup season. At the Innsbruck, Austria competition, she received bronze with partner Elana Meyers Taylor. And in 2020, the now-32-year-old, with partner Kaillie Humphries, won the World Cup at Königssee, Germany.
