BOSTON – If you are a runner who about whether you would make the cut for the 2022 Boston Marathon, you can amp up your training now.
The Boston Athletic Association announced Thursday that anyone who submitted an application during the registration window will be allowed to run the race in April as long as their qualifying time is verified.
The group said “for the first time since 2013, the ‘cut-off’ time is 0 minutes and 0 seconds,” Boston 25 News reported.
The association said about 24,000 applications were submitted between Nov. 8 and 12 this year. The race organizers expect to host about 30,000 runners.
All runners must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be able to compete, Boston 25 News reported.
The 2021 Boston Marathon was run in October after being held virtually in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The 2022 race will be held on April 18.
