PELZER, S.C. – A four-year-old girl was found dead Tuesday afternoon. Officials believe she had allegedly been suffocated to death by her half-brother.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called about a missing girl on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m., according to WHNS. When deputies arrived on the scene, they got a description of Joanna Lockby, 4, from her family and they began to search.
According to GSCO in a news release, Lockby was found dead in a wooded area Tuesday afternoon. During GCSO’s investigation, William Michah Hester, 17, was arrested for allegedly suffocating Lockby, which ultimately led to her death.
GCSO said identified Hester as Lockby’s half-brother and said that Lockby’s body was found in a plastic bin behind their home
WHNS said Hester was arrested by GCSO on Wednesday. He is set to appear in court for a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation is ongoing and GCSO said they are working to figure out the motive.
