The other day I was scrolling through Facebook when I came upon this video of Joel Hoekstra jamming on the Jefferson Starship hit “Jane” with Mike Portnoy and Dino Jelusick.
It was absolutely a great jam and I played it over and over.
I immediately shot Joel an email and asked if we could have a Zoom call about the video and anything else he’s been working on in quarantine.
Joel is always a busy guy and quarantine hasn’t changed that.
We discussed the “Jane” jam, a jam he did with Jen Majura from Evanescence and Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden, Echobats a band he has with Tony Harnell from TNT, Whitesnake, Trans Siberian Orchestra, his own band Joel Hoekstra’s 13 and the benefit he’ll be a part of on September 17th Six String Salute.
