Spirit Airlines flight 696 from Las Vegas landed without incident around 6:20 a.m. The plane, described by WRC-TV as an Airbus 300 series, was carrying 111 people.

Officials said the plane slid into a grassy area shortly after landing. A public information officer for the Spirit Airlines told WJLA that the nose wheel of the plane “slowly slid onto the grass while (the plane was) turning a corner and taxiing into the gate.”

Officials said passengers and airline personnel were deplaned and taken to an airport terminal by shuttle bus.

No injuries were reported.

The incident happened after a winter storm brought snow, sleet and rain into the area Wednesday and early Thursday, WJZ-TV reported. On Wednesday night, BWI Airport officials said the airport’s winter weather team was working “to maintain safe surfaces in the airfield and near the terminal.”
