The Arthritis Foundation is pleased to present the first-ever Paws with Claus event on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Julep on 1919 Washington Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to bring their furry friends to have their photos taken with Paw Paw Claus and get into the holiday spirit. The event will run from 12:00-4:00pm with Santa pictures going from 1:00-3:00pm.
Photos with Santa will be complimentary with suggested donation to the Arthritis Foundation. Attendees will receive swag bag filled with goodies and are encouraged to stick around to enjoy the roster of cocktails at Julep. Housed in a renovated industrial building, this laidback cocktail bar features a large pet-friendly porch.
Hosts Aubrie Layne and Melaine Sweeney are longtime volunteers for the Arthritis Foundation and are both are impacted by a form of arthritis. “The Arthritis Foundation has struggled during the pandemic as most in-person events had to be canceled,” says Aubrie Layne. “Melaine and I are hosting Santa Paws to increase the organization’s visibility and help raise critically needed funds.”
One in five adult dogs in our country struggle with arthritis. It is one of the most common causes of chronic pain that veterinarians treat. The condition in dogs becomes evident as they age, but proper care and treatment can help control your best friend’s condition and maintain their quality of life. The Arthritis Foundation’s very own 2020 Canine Honoree, Olive, will make a guest appearance at Paws with Claus.
More than 54 million Americas in the United States, including 300,000 children, are impacted by arthritis. All proceeds from Santa Paws with Claus will directly benefit the Foundation’s mission of conquering arthritis, America’s number 1 cause of disability.
