Publix is the latest company to require customers to wear masks because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting July 21, customers will have to wear face coverings at all locations, WFLA reported.

Publix has more than 1,200 stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, The Tampa Bay Business Journal reported.

Store entrances will have signs installed posting the new rules. There will also be in-store announcements, according to WTSP.

Young children and people with health issues that prevent them from wearing masks will be exempt from the rule, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported.

Earlier this year, the company produced Publix-branded masks first for its employees, then available for purchase by customers, Tampa Bay Times reported in April.

Publix is following retailers, including Walmart, Target, CVS and Kohl’s to require store patrons to wear masks.
