Stafford County sheriff’s deputies said in a news release that they had received a tip that Troy Longwell was at a beauty shop and was wanted in four jurisdictions on active warrants.

Deputies said when they arrived, a game of “hide and seek” began. But then they saw a ceiling tile out of place in the beauty salon and a human leg in the crawl space of the ceiling.

Despite giving orders to surrender, Longwell is accused of continuing through the crawl space into the next suite, which belongs to a church where there was a service in progress, WJLA reported.

When deputies rushed into the church, “A shirtless, out of breath subject was subsequently detained in the sanctuary, in the middle of the service,” sheriff’s deputies said in a news release.

Deputies said they found a controlled substance in the ceiling where Longwell had been hiding, WRIC reported.

Longwell was served seven active warrants, charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstruction, and was taken to jail where he was held without bond.
