AALBORG, Denmark – A shopping trip turned into a sleepover for some in northern Denmark when a snowstorm stranded people inside an Ikea.
Up to 12 inches of snow fell, trapping both customers and employees in the Aalborg store, leaving them to sleep on beds that are normally just for show, The Associated Press reported.
The store’s manager told the Ekstra Bladet newspaper that not only could the customers have the chance to sleep in the exact bed they always wanted to try, but that they spent the night eating and watching television together, Sky News reported.
Denmark’s public broadcaster DR said people working next door to the Ikea in a toy store were invited over and also spent the night inside Ikea, the AP reported.
