BUCYRUS, Ohio – An Ohio man died Friday when his vehicle crashed into the back of a snowplow that was plowing snow off the road, authorities said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Anthony Mahon, 34, of Shelby, was driving his Ford Explorer in Crawford County at about 1 p.m. EST, WCMH-TV reported.
A snowplow was in front of Mahon and came to a stop in the road while removing snow, according to the television station.
According to troopers, Mahon struck the 2022 Freightliner snowplow, driven by a 36-year-old Bucyrus man, WJW-TV reported.
Mahon was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to WCMH.
At the time of the crash, Crawford County was under a Level 3 snow emergency, the television station reported.
The highway patrol said an investigation was ongoing.
