MADISONVILLE, Tenn. – A Tennessee man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and attempting to drown her in a tub, authorities said.

The woman said she had four teeth broken and her nose bitten, and then said her boyfriend submerged her head in a bathtub and attempted to drown her, The Advocate & Democrat of Madisonville reported.

Authorities said they are looking for Noah Tipton, 48, of Vonore, on charges of aggravated assault by domestic violence, the newspaper reported.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Corporal Billy Littleton said he spoke with the woman and her mother. According to the woman, TIpton began assaulting her at about 3 a.m. EDT on May 24. She said she went to a friend’s home, but added that Tipton tricked her to come outside by offering her a cigarette, the Advocate & Democrat reported.

The woman claimed that Tipton grabbed her and dragged her through a yard back to her home, the newspaper reported. Tipton then allegedly broke four of her teeth and bit her nose before slamming her against a wall, the Advocate & Democrat reported.

The woman said Tipton told her to wash her face but instead submerged her head in a bathtub, Littleton said.

Littleton added that the woman said Tipton threatened to cut her tongue out if she called authorities. The woman also showed Littleton a text message from June 22 allegedly from Tipton that said he was stalking her since the attack in May, the Advocate & Democrat reported.
