NEW YORK – Nick Blixky, an up-and-coming rapper who was preparing to drop his first mixtape next month was fatally shot Sunday night in New York City, authorities said. He was 21.
Police said Blixky was killed in Brooklyn around 9:30 p.m., WNBC reported.

According to police, Blixky, whose real name was Nickalus Thompson was shot in the torso and buttocks in the Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, WABC reported.
He was pronounced dead at an area hospital, the television station reported.
On Sunday, Blixky announced the release of his mixtape, “Different Timin,” in an Instagram post. The music was set to be released June 3, according to the post.

Blixky also had a single titled “Drive The Boat” with more than 2 million views on YouTube, CNN reported.
Police said no arrests have been made, and have not identified a motive for the shooting, WNBC reported.
