Rocky, a 5-month-old mini Australian shepherd, ran away Monday, WNBC reported.

A good Samaritan took the dog to New York Fire Department fire house engine 227. Firefighters shared video of the dog on social media in an attempt to find the owner.

Natasha Gaynor went to the station with the dog’s license and other paperwork to show proof of ownership. However, Rocky was already gone.

“They said a lady came and claimed the dog,” Gaynor said. “They couldn’t identify her, where she was, who she is.”

He remains missing.

The fire department did not comment to WNBC.

The family is offering a reward for Rocky’s return.

“He would play with me, he would fake bite me, he would do a whole bunch of stuff that made me happy,” Jayanna Gaynor, 8, told WNBC.

Jaeda Gaynor, 9, also hopes to see Rocky again.

“He loves to play around, I like to play around with him,” she said. “I feel bad, my sister really loves him.”
