According to a Facebook post from the Morgan County Rescue Squad, the agency was called to the Tennessee River Bridge that crosses Interstate 65 southwest of Huntsville.

The agency, along with members of Decatur Fire and Rescue, took a boat to the river, AL.com reported.

“Responders on the scene quickly located the female and directed our boat to (her), who was near a bridge pylon between the two bridges,” Morgan County Rescue wrote on Facebook.

Temperatures in the river were approximately 60 degrees, and first responders “quickly loaded” the woman and took her to an ambulance at Riverwalk Marina, the agency stated.

She was then taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Other agencies that assisted in the rescue were the Decatur Police Department, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County EMS and Morgan County 911, AL.com reported.
