EDMOND, Okla. – A toddler has died after she was found inside a hot car in Oklahoma, authorities said.

According to KOCO-TV, Edmond police said the 3-year-old girl had been in the car on West Hurd Street for up to six hours before she was found. The child, who had suffered critical injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, Edmond police said. No further information was immediately available.
