MONROEVILLE, Pa. – A Pennsylvania toddler has died after her 5-year-old sibling accidentally shot her, police said.

According to WPXI-TV, the incident occurred Friday night at the Cambridge Square Apartments in Monroeville. Monroeville police said the older child discovered an unsecured gun, which discharged, striking 3-year-old Braya Sanders. She later died at a nearby hospital, the news outlet reported.

Authorities said a person who lives in the home legally owns the gun and is cooperating with police, according to WPXI.

Investigators have not arrested anyone in connection with the death, the news outlet reported.
