A third man survived, the Miami Herald reported. He was able to flag down a passing driver who called the police. That man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a hospital Saturday night in critical condition.

Investigators said the truckers were kidnapped by masked men. They were bound, then tortured for hours in the back of a moving vehicle before they were shot in the head and dumped in the front yard of an abandoned house in Opa-Locka, police said. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the men, WTVJ reported.

The victims were Osmar Oliva, 50, the owner of Oliva Delivery Corp., and Johan Gonzalez Quesada, 26, police said.

“He was a very good person,” Oliva’s widow told the Herald. “I don’t know why this happened to him.”

Gonzalez Quesada was the father to a 1-year-old daughter and a baby born about two weeks ago.

The victims both had previous criminal histories.

Oliva was arrested in 2007 after he was found unloading cargo from a stolen tractor trailer, the Herald reported. The charges were dropped the next year.

Gonzalez Quesada was accused last year after investigators found two loads of stolen cargo, frozen shrimp and air conditioners at his home, the Herald reported. He pleaded not guilty and was awaiting trial.
