Barry Joseph Watts, of Fort Dodge, was arrested Tuesday, KCCI reported.

Police were doing a routine building check in Fort Dodge when they found Watts in the Double Diamonds Properties business suite, the television station reported.

One of the businesses on the property was a dental office.

According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, Watts was found with a large amount of cash and burglary tools that included a screwdriver and flashlight, KCCI reported. Authorities identified five doors that were damaged, the television station reported.

Watts allegedly told police he was walking by the building and pulled at the doors to find them unlocked, according to an arrest report.

“(Watts) then stated he entered the property to get warm, but after spending some time looking around the building he decided to start taking items from the different suites,” the arrest report stated. “(Watts) stated he took gold teeth worth $1,000 and a laptop from Cochrane Dental. It was later learned (Watts) also took a Canon digital camera worth $5,000.”

Watts told police he kicked the door into Double Diamond Properties and took $3,318 cash, KCCI reported. He also broke into A&A Electric, according to authorities.

Watts is being held at the Webster County Jail, the television station reported.
