The Eagan Police Department is trying to find the owner of valuables worth plenty of money. Don’t bet on anyone stepping forward to claim it, though.

In a Facebook post, the department said it found four large bags of marijuana and a bundle of cash in an elevator.

“Did you lose something important tonight? Some forgetful person set this bag of valuables down and forgot to pick it up,” the tongue-in-cheek post reads. “We’d love to talk to you about it. Give us a call at 651-675-5700 to discuss your options.”

Eagan Police Department spokesperson Officer Aaron Machtemes told KARE-TV that dispatchers received a call shortly before 11 p.m. CST Tuesday night from someone at an apartment complex. That person discovered the marijuana and money that “easily adds up to several thousand dollars.”

Machtemes laughed when asked about the Facebook post, admitting it was unlikely to motivate the owner of the lost items to reclaim them. He added that it was the largest stash of marijuana that he has seen during his time on the force, KARE reported.
