NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Tennessee woman is accused of stabbing her friend in the shower, prosecutors said.
Cassidy Ford, 26, of Nashville, was charged Feb. 18 with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to records posted to the Davidson County Clerk’s Office online website.
According to prosecutors, the victim was taking a shower, and when she opened the door to exit, Ford was standing in front of her with an orange knife and began swinging it in a downward motion, WSMV-TV reported.
According to an arrest affidavit, the knife caused a 2-inch cut on the victim’s right arm, the television station reported. The woman then pushed Ford away and shut the shower door.
Police said Ford and the victim were friends and fellow musicians in the Nashville area, according to the affidavit.
After the stabbing, Ford allegedly ran to a neighbor’s home to call the police, WSMV reported.
Officers said that when they arrived, Ford attempted to prevent them from entering the home, the television station reported. According to the arrest affidavit, Ford told officers that she “had a bad night” and that “no one is in my house besides my friend.”
Officers found the victim hiding in the bathroom and she identified Ford as the assailant, according to WSMV. They also discovered the knife in the kitchen, and it was identified as the one used to attack the victim.
Ford is due in court on March 18, according to online court records. Bail was set at $15,000.
