The message was for Gotham City, Missouri, which does not exist, and for a purple-and-green 1978 Dodge, which is the car used by the Joker in the 1989 movie “Batman,” The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The license plate listed on the alert read “UKIDME.”

The highway patrol soon went on Twitter, saying that the alert was meant to be a test message and it was a mistake. A spokesperson for the highway patrol told KSDK an incorrect option was selected, which inadvertently sent the test out to the public.

Many people took to Twitter to joke about the mistake, which was trending on the social media app.
