Arrest records indicate the 25-year-old Chicago artist, born Joann Marie Slater, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and simple battery, Billboard reported.

According to Fox News, Slater allegedly told responding officers that the 24-year-old victim, identified later as a friend with whom she grew up in Chicago, was shot after a “gun fell off of a table in the hotel room which caused the gun to go off hitting the victim.”

The shooting reportedly occurred Dec. 1 at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel, and the victim answered officers’ questions before being transported to an area hospital for treatment, Billboard reported.

Ann Marie is best known for her 2018′s “Secret,” followed by the album “Pretty Psycho” in 2019 and a video for her song, “Come Over,” featuring Yung Bleu, which was released two weeks ago, Fox News reported.
