SEDALIA, Mo. – A Missouri boy is dead following an accidental shooting in Sedalia, authorities said.

According to the Sedalia Democrat and KSIS, the incident occurred about 11 p.m. Sunday at a home on East Boonville Road. Andre Walker, a 4-year-old boy who lived in the home, discovered a loaded gun and shot himself, the child’s parents told Sedalia police. The boy’s father rushed Walker to a nearby hospital, where the child died, the news outlets reported.

Investigators said that although several people, including two more children, were inside the home at the time of the shooting, nobody else was hurt, the Democrat reported. Police believe the shooting was accidental and do not suspect foul play, according to the newspaper.
