Police: woman stole guns to pay bail
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. – An Alabama woman is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies said she stole more than a dozen guns from a house.
Detectives with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to investigate a burglary when a man discovered his guns were missing and told police he believed he knew who took them, WPMI reported.
Sheriff’s deputies said they arrested Mary Juileen Jackson at her home. Deputies told WEAR that Jackson admitted to “taking the guns so that she could sell them and pay bail for her current 17 felony warrants within the City of Mobile.”
Deputies said they have recovered 13 of the 14 guns stolen, which were hidden in several places throughout Mobile County, WALA reported.
