Homicide suspect allegedly attempted to break into Colorado police station to turn himself in
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A homicide suspect allegedly attempted to break into the Colorado Springs police station early Sunday morning to reportedly turn himself in.
The Colorado Springs Police Department reported that a man was trying to break into the Falcon Division building on Goddard Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to KKTV.
Police later identified the man as Carlos Trejo, 36. According to KKTV, Trejo was taken into custody and reportedly told officers that he was trying to turn himself in for murder.
According to KMGH, Trejo allegedly told officers he shot and killed his roommate. He wanted to turn himself in.
Violent crime officers went to Trejo’s apartment and reportedly found a deceased man inside, police said, according to KMGH.
Trejo was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a recommended charge of second-degree murder, according to KMGH.
The name of the victim has not yet been released, according to KMGH. No further information has been released.
