STEWARTSTOWN, Pa. – A man allegedly stabbed a mother and young daughter to death in Pennsylvania on Monday, officials say.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police in a news release, Southern Regional Police Department officers and PSP troopers were called out to a house in York County, Pennsylvania on Monday just after 7 p.m.
A 34-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl were found dead. According to court records obtained by WGAL, Jacqueline Fousek, 63, and Joseph Fousek, 28. Both were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The woman who died was later identified by PSP as Christine Fousek. WGAL identified the 5-year-old as Rylee Reynolds, the daughter of Fousek.
Keith Kretzer, 31, told investigators, according to court records obtained by WGAL, that he was making dinner for his girlfriend, Christine and her daughter. He allegedly then told them that “something took control of him and made him get a knife,” which he claimed led to the stabbing. And then Kretzer allegedly went upstairs and stabbed the other two people.
According to WGAL, Kretzer allegedly told investigators that he suddenly snapped out of it while he was struggling with Joseph.
According to court records obtained by CBS News Baltimore, law enforcement allegedly found marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in the house but it was not clear who the substances belonged to.
Kretzer was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide and two counts of criminal attempted homicide, according to CBS News Baltimore.
PSP said they are waiting for the York County Coroner’s Office for the official cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing.
